Criminal Investigations

Investigations for the Waverly Police Department are conducted by Captain Larry Lescure.  While most of the crime in Waverly is handled at the patrol level, Captain Lescure handles investigations of major crimes and cases that are not routinely handled by a Public Safety Officer.  He will also supervise the processing of crime scenes and handling of evidence.  Since the integration of the Police and Fire Service, Captain Lescure's responsibilities also include command responsibility for the Fire Division. 

Detective Tony Ahne is our narcotics investigator.  Ahne investigates narcotics related crimes full time and is part of our joint Vice Unit.  The Vice Unit consists of a Detective from WPD as well as the Humphreys County Sheriff's Department (Detective Wesley Hagler).  Detectives Ahne and Hagler work on drug related investigations throughout Humphreys County and work closely with other Local, State and Federal drug enforcement agencies to enhance the drug enforcement efforts within our county.   Anyone with drug related information and tips can reach Detectives Ahne and Hagler at 296-4300 or may call Crimestoppers at 296-2414.
